Shrigley Hall

Shrigley Hall

Shrigley Hall is a stunning Georgian country house in Cheshire, on the edge of the Peak District. The views from the front of Shrigley Hall are fantastic, especially the sunsets.

I started filming from the guest arrivals at Shrigley. This is always a nice part of the wedding film for the bride to watch, as she doesn’t get to see this part of the day. The bride, Jess, was busy getting ready in one of the rooms in the front of the old house at Shrigley Hall so she could see when her groom, Tom, arrived.

The bride and groom wanted to spend as much time with their guests as possible. They had some photographs with their bridal party and family before the ceremony. This meant that after the ceremony, they could spend more time chatting with their guests.

The ceremony took place at the Tilden Suite at the back of Shrigley Hall. The room has a medieval feel with the high ceilings and archways. The room was decorated in beautiful creamy white flowers and lights. The mother of the bride did a lot of the venue dressing.

The bride’s sister and maid of honour did a heartfelt reading during the ceremony. The couple said their vows in front of all of the family and friends on the date of their anniversary.

I always love the shot of the bride and groom walking back up the aisle after they are married. The blossom trees in the background look so pretty.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for the group shots and final family shots. Then the couple went on a short walk of the grounds to have their photographs taken. There were lots of places to get shots for the film and photos such as this nice wooded area shown below.

The couple had decided to do the speeches before the wedding breakfast. This meant that everyone could relax and enjoy their meal with the speeches out of the way. Giving a speech can be terrifying for a lot of people. It’s a good idea to get them out of the way early so that they’re not a constant worry.

The evening reception started at 7pm when more guests arrived. The DJ announced the couple into the room for the cutting of the cake. This was followed by the father and daughter dance and then the couples’ first dance.
