Sandhole Oak Barn
Sandhole Oak Barn is such a tranquil wedding venue, near Congleton in Cheshire. The barn is set by a huge lake, which makes a great backdrop for photos and video.
Jacob and Rachel had their wedding booked for years but had to reschedule many times due to COVID. They were finally able to tie the knot in May with some of their closest family and friends.
The day started in The Granary where Rachel and her bridesmaids had their hair and make-up done before getting into their dresses. I always say that filming the wedding details such as the wedding dress, shoes and flowers is one of my favourite parts. They’re always so pretty and look great on the wedding film.
The ceremony was a small and intimate affair in the main barn. Rachel and Jacob said their vows and exchanged rings before being declared man and wife.
It was a little bit windy on the day and there were plenty of rain showers. Luckily, there was just enough dry spells to be able to get some shots outside of the family, bridesmaids, ushers and the couples shots.
As there were still COVID restrictions, the venue couldn’t provide an outdoor wedding breakfast. Fortunately, there is a pub across the road from the entrance of Sandhole Oak Barn so the whole wedding party were able to make their way over there for a meal afterwards.
The groom and ushers set up the marquee especially for the guests. They worked hard in the morning to get it looking nice. The guests had to retreat to the main pub marquee as the rain was so heavy. It was very quiet so it wasn’t a problem. The guests were still able to enjoy themselves and listened to the speeches.
