Ariadne’s christening at the Greek Orthodox Church Liverpool

The Greek Orthodox Church in Liverpool is always a pleasure to work at. Ariadne’s christening was a great day to film, especially as it had been so long since working during lockdown!

St. Nicholas is a very decorative building with blue walls, stained glass windows and chandeliers. I like to film all of the venue details when I first arrive at the church to be used in the video. Soon after, the guests start to arrive for the christening to begin. I love all of the traditions at a Greek christening, including the lighting of candles by all of the guests.

Christening details

All of the christening details were filmed such as the balloons, dress, socks, oil, candles and ribbons. The table is laid out with all of these things, ready to use during the ceremony. The dress is so pretty with all of the little flowers.

There are many different aspects of the christening, which lasts about an hour.

I would usually film some of the celebrations afterwards but because of the lockdown rules, the party couldn’t go ahead. It was meant to be at Cargo on the Liverpool waterfront.

I’ll be back at the Greek Orthodox Church in Liverpool next year for a wedding. It’ll be my first Greek wedding and I can’t wait! I’ll post the highlights and teaser trailer next year when they’re ready along with a blog post.

Get in touch to find out about our christening video packages. I usually film from about half an hour before the ceremony starts and then film for a couple of hours at the party celebrations afterwards. If you would like anything different, let me know and I can work out a quote.
