Arley Hall wedding
Peaky Blinders was the inspiration for this this Arley Hall wedding. The show uses Arley Hall as the setting for Tommy Shelby’s home, Arrow House. It’s the perfect cheshire venue for any fans of the show. It’s also the perfect venue for those wanting a grand stately home for their wedding venue.
The grounds and gardens are stunning. Photographers and videographers spoilt for choice when working on an Arley Hall wedding, as there are so many places to get beautiful wedding shots. Guests walk up to the property from the car park, through the tree-lined pathway, past the Cruck Barn and clock tower, towards the mansion. Trees and greenery surround the old driveway, which leads up to the front gates and entrance of the mansion. There is a traditional circular gravel driveway with a fountain and flowers in the centre. This is a great place for photographs and video.
Even if it’s raining on the day of the wedding, as it was at this wedding, there’s still plenty of places to take photos and get some shots for the wedding film. We decided to go to the Cruck Barn to take couples shots. It’s also great to get some shots in the library, on the staircase and in the doorway, as it can look really dramatic.
Peaky Blinders themed wedding
Annie and James had a Peaky Blinders themed seating plan and table numbers. Each table had a picture of one of the characters from the show. It was something a bit different that I haven’t seen before at another wedding. I think the table names and seating plan gives brides to be a chance to do something quite creative and personal to them, just like this New York themed wedding breakfast room at this 30 James Street wedding.
All of the ushers and some of the guests wore flat caps and 1920’s style suits. Furthermore, the waiting on staff even dressed for the occasion, as did the wedding DJ at the evening reception. The theme of the day really worked well.
Filming from arrivals until first dance
For this wedding, I filmed from about an hour before the ceremony until a few songs after the first dance. This gave me the opportunity to capture all of the important parts of the day on film.
Sometimes, the timings run a bit over and things get delayed. This happens with many weddings and isn’t a problem for me. The packages include the events of the day and aren’t limited to a set time-frame.
